1,9 TDI Golf V cruise control no longer working

Post by Jambalya »

Hey!

Does anyone know the possible cause of this?

Either the stalk or the ECU right?

Where is a good/reasonable place to get this looked at?

I live in the Sandton/Melrose area.

Thanks

Check brake light switch and Clutch switch.
Plug in VCDS and Check values and depress pedals to see if they are working properly

We have actually failed to answer his questions properly.

Do any guys from Northern Suburbs have a good recommendation for a garage that can help the OP?

This is a good suggestion.

The brake light switch and the slipping on the steering column are the two most likely reasons for the system to no longer function.

Just don't go replacing parts till it's been properly checked.

Thanks Guys! My clutch was replaced quite recently. Could this have been the cause?

Should not be a problem unless they damaged the Clutch switch while bleeding the system. Switches sit on the pedals in the car.
They push in and twist. This adjusts the Level they work on. Maybe check if the pedal is still up high and touching the switch. Easy test is to measure with multi meter(continuity) between pins on switch and depressing pedal to see if it is still working.
