EGR Delete or Not

Post by KaRBoN85 »

Hey all. In recent days i noticed my Fuel consumption increasing. I can only think that perhaps my EGR is getting packed with gunk and needs a good clean. Last clean was done in October 2020 by previous owner when the turbo was reconned.

I also noticed a bit of what looks like oil on the end of the EGR where the bolts connect. Possibly gasket leak? The vacuum line was also under the engine cover instead of being along the pipe in the rear... Should I replace the line?

Or should I just do an EGR delete?
What are the Pros and Cons of doing this?

Many thanks guys

Fail to understand how none of the tdi "gurus" didn't give their input.

Anyways, Delete it with a racepipe and blank off the manifold or cooler end.

Only con is u need a remap, which is not really a con.
When a car tailgates me, i slow down - then floor it and give them a cloud of diesel smoke to choke on :driving:
