Hi All,
I drive a '05 mk5 golf 2.0 Tdi with >500k kms. The engine idles high(just above 1k rpm) few seconds after starting engine, followed by both fans running at high speed. Had to replace both fans due to self-destruction. Found a small vaccum leak on the intermediate air hose pipe after the MAF sensor and the one leading to the turbo. I had the small hole plugged but the high idling and fans running continoulsy problem still persists. Does anyone know if this car has O2 sensors? i'm thinking that might be the problem. any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks
Lucky

My fan is also always on. I were told its the temp sensor that was faulty, replaced that and guess what the fan was still on... So till today my car's fan is always on.

I would expect that a diagnostic read-out of fault codes and measurement blocks should provide the reason for the continuously running fans.
