1.9 Tdi Idle and Consumption (PD160)

Post by ShivenRamlal »

Howzit guys, Any help on the PD160’s ,

Car idles around +-900rpm and consumption at that point is around 1.3l/h
I’ve read up online and spoke to couple guys, their PD’s idle around +-700rpm and consumption at that idle is around 0.6, car just had a complete major service and found no faults or errors on it and everything checks out,
Now I’m having problem trying to find out what is wrong, although the car is light on fuel and runs good, it still has an issue and is bugging me, does anyone know what to do,checkup, has had this issue before and resolved it ?

Thanks 👍🏽

Pds idle at 903rpm.

High idle consumption is most commonly caused by incorrect timing or a shitty remap.

Be sure the AC is not on, as that also pushes up the idle consumption.

But don't try fix what isn't broke...

Won't hurt checking the injector values with VCDS, as that will tell you if something is really off.
