Mk5 1.9 Tdi steering power loss or hardened turns or drive.

Post by Tabiso »

Hi Guys, please give guidance on the below;

I have the above-mentioned vehicle from which a red steering sign on the dash is reflected with steering being hard to drive with. A local mechanic said I should refill power steering fluid as it is below minimum level.

My problem is that, I don’t know where the bottle or reservoir is located and he is out of the Country since our contact last week.

Can I be assisted on this?.

You will look until you are blue.... you won't find a power steering fluid reservoir, it doesn't use fluid, it is servotronic. Just a fat ass electric motor for assistance.

Could be anything from a fuse to a bad contact to a burnt out motor.
