hey guys

have k line wire its got no voltage ecu still fine but unstalling now 95kw turbo into my 74kw but i cant re flash the ecu now through obd2 so benchflash is only option i pressume? is there way to fix that k line wire or trace it to ecu? is there no cheaper option as to pay 2500 for bench flash is there any cheaper person that can assist me with this in cape town area. can i relay the the k wire to be able to read ecu through ob2 again? any advise maybe to get this done.

According to the info I have, there's no reported signal on the k line.

Pin 7 on the DLC connector goes to pin 16 on the ecu. Grey/white wire..

If I'm not mistaken on the DLC connector:
* pin 4 is chassis ground
* pin 5 is signal ground
* pin 6 is can high
* pin 7 is k line
* pin 14 is can low
* pin 16 is 12v battery power

If u got continuity from the DLC to the ecu plug, and if u got power and ground, a scan tool should communicate with the ecu unless there's a short in a sensor or the ecu.

I'm guessing u have a no communication error?

hey thanks man

yes there is no communication to diagnostic device " no communication to ecu"

all happened after crank sensor gave problem car didnt wane start and then starts and then died on me one day and then replaced crank sensor new one and all engine light and problems gone away untill i wanted to read the ecu and yeah no communication.

OK I believe Johan is out of town for now, u can contact this guy instead +27 84 653 2053.

Unfortunately, u probably gonna have to pay a full price to get it tuned. Ur current tuner should be able to do it cheaper since u already their customer..

But hey give this guy a call and check what he says, their after service is good and their files are awesome (power wise and consumption wise), would recommend SR any day. U can see my build thread for a better review haha

thanks buddy no i believe you. i will contact him. i just want to be able to sort out the ecu problem first before do the new turbo install so that i can get it tuned again.

wulfchip is asking me 2500 bench tune it and thats basicly full tune again price anyway. but if this guy can sort me out and get to read my ecu in my car thru ob2 then i will be taking that rather.

will give him a shout. and see prices hes asking also

ok just need to say another thing that day car didnt read was when i braked very hard and abs light with engine light came on and then car didnt wanr start after that. we went thru all sensors and crank sensor was shitting down engine soon touch it so replaced it and car was finr engine light stayed on and then dissapeared with the abs light but i have been reading up and seems my abs can also block out readings to my ecu so im gone tey to disconnect abs sensor and module and see if i can then read ecu ( other engine parts) hope this is this then atleast pinpointed the problem.

Might be unrelated.
But I knew a guy that had a highline TDI that was mapped by wulf, and i also couldn't connect VCDS or any other OBD scan tool.
They all worked on my Cupra, but none would connect on his car.

I thought back then, they put some kind of block on the ECU which doesn't allow anyone else to connect.

Have you taken your car back to wulf and can they access the ecu via the OBD port?

yeah the problem is that even with the software on before i could still read the car without problems and just after the incidant then i couldnt. so dont think its that. but well worth shot.

ok tested with abs plug out and

still no ecu communication grrrr... really damn hoped that would be the problem. so this means wiring is screwed somewhere problably between the cluster and the obd 2. well i gues its the long route now paying the big ammounts.

well update i was starting to look undwr dash and found somethinf tjats been cut maybe old wires and then started to trace it and f... there it is damn grey and white k line been cut but heres the funny there is 5 grey and white wires going the other way and one toward obd2 port how the hell do i know which one now.

all sorted out now connected all the wires together and whalala ecu have lifted off and communication.

thanks man only thing is see getting 11v between 4 and 7 so which is strange going to disconnect today radio pin 3 to see voltage drops down below 9v. strange is i am reading ecu fine

nevermind i read there is 1v difference between battery voltage and k line voltage when ignition on. so all good
