Polo 6R 1,6 cat removal

Post by OOBA »

Friend of mines catalytic converter is on its way out I suspect. Can they just replace that section with a piece of pipe? She doesn't want it to be any louder than stock. Any exhaust shop recommendations in the JHB north areas?

What would a new SS exhaust cost with the standard amount of boxes?

Thanks

It's depends , some cats was part of the branch , if not and its after the branch then ,grind out cat , grind sensor flange from cat , weld in new piece of pipe in place of cat , cut out a piece for Cat sensor flange , weld in sensor flange , screw cat sensor back in.

Cat doesn't affect the loudness of the exhaust really, it's for emissions , should it have been in strict emissions countries , You would've to replace the cat with a new one.
