TDI Engine/Transmission Mounts

Post by CoalWorld23 »

Morning Gentz,

i've been advised that my RHS engine mount and the insert in the dog bone mount needs to be replaced on my IBIZA FR.

i was considering purchasing new OEM mounts but i am aware that upgraded ones are available.

However, i've read that because of the extra rowdiness of the diesel motor, stiffer mounts will cause greater vibration within the cabin etc.

Is there any truth to this or is it just better to buy OEM considering the car is a daily?

Dogbone I would go for an upgraded one, slight vibration increase but easily livable. Motor mounts i would get stock ones depending on the price, but when funds allow i plan to fill my current mounts with Poly.
It is an ingenius solution to a problem that should have never existed in the 1st place...

On a diesel there is a marked increase in NVH in the cabin with poly mounts.

I replaced all mine with vibraTechnics and has some proper vibration. No engine movement at all and gear changes is perfect now. Not recommended for Daily. I adjusted idle rpm which helps a little
