Vacuum distributor valve

Hi,please can someone tell me the function of a vacuum distributor valve on a 2008 jetta 1.9 tdi?mine is leaking as per VW,what will this affect on my car while this part is leaking?

The main purpose of it is that it controls the turbo, egr and asv.

It it's leaking, chances are it wont be operating those 3 components properly..

Okay,so will it make my car heavier on diesel usage and lack of power etc while leaking?this is what im experiencing at this stage.

Probably. If it doesnt have enough vacuum to operate the turbos vnt mechanism then u will have boost issues..

U rather check on ur own, if u have any damaged vacuum pipes or if the vacuum reservoir is leaking..
