1.9tdi bxe going crazy

Hi guys big problem with a jetta 5 tdi, so after a day of heavy rain I went out to move my car and it started fine and all of a sudden oil pressure warning comes on and I shut down car start car again no oil light but power steering, traction control,handbrake lights stay on and car idles for a moment and shuts down on its own and also when ignition is switched on radiator fan runs :???:

You got water into a control module. Make sure your rain tray drains are open and start a search of where control modules are situated and see if you have carpets that are wet which will indicate water coming into the car.

i had similar symptoms on my jetta
water got into the canbus gateway control unit

ok thanks guys where are these modules in engine bay or inside car and how do they look any info and pics will help me alot

they are both in the rain tray and inside the car. USe google. search for control module location jetta 5 and see what yo can find. I also don't know all of them and find it that way.
Look for SSP's for that car.

ok gateway controller got water damaged causing ecu to short also and R9500 :twisted: later car is running again

Any reason found to have caused the water damage ?

Almost always the same reason. Stuff like leaves etc blocking the rain tray drain.

Yip, but are these things not then somewhat water resistant (seeing that they might be exposed to moisture)?

Resistant being the word. Ie splash proof, not water tight as in dive proof. Ie If you submerge the thing in water it will get in.
