Intercooler + Oil Catch Can

Post by billionairebum »

Hello

Two questions if I may:
{Car: 1.9 tdi ASZ, SMIC, Stage 1, DP, resides in JHB}

1: I ran some logs yesterday and found that My intake temps hit 110 from 2nd to half way through third (WOT, ambient 23 C). If a FMIC can drop those temps to half then surely it will be able to increase the performance by 10kw or some margin?

2: Are oil catch cans necessary on the ASZ considering the boost is around 1.5 to 1.8? I thought these would only be necessary when going BT?

Regards

on the intercooler, yes you will get a bit more power, but more importantly the power will be consistant, and you wont lose any power to heatsoak after a few hard pulls.
It is an ingenius solution to a problem that should have never existed in the 1st place...
