1.9TDI 74KW
Hi Guys
Im new to the forum and would just like some advice.
Im in the process of purchasing a 08 Polo 1.9TDI 74KW the car has about 140k Km on the clock and has full service history until 130k odd Km.
How is reliability on these cars? and is there anything i should check for before buying the vehicle?

They are reliable cars and they respond well to mods.
Stock they also reliable VGTI one is a proper virgin, it still has the CAT in and still running on stock clutch.
Pure Epicness.

Yep, the PD130's had the turbo issues, which amazingly VWSA issued a recall to address.Howie-WP wrote:Thought his was PD100 as well however, being PD130 is even more impressive, then.......Neuk wrote: the PD130 (VGTI).

She is currently sitting on 342600 odd km, not quite 350k yet but getting there fast.Neuk wrote:Yep, the PD130's had the turbo issues, which amazingly VWSA issued a recall to address.Howie-WP wrote:Thought his was PD100 as well however, being PD130 is even more impressive, then.......Neuk wrote: the PD130 (VGTI).
Amazingly as you put it, mine wasn't part of the recall... perhaps, because it was fitted with a proper turbo?
Anyway, as Unobeat has pointed out, she is still on the first clutch and turbo. Oh and the front shocks... they are also still the originals
Only few tiny issues included a new alternator pulley one way clutch thingy and a filthy leaking intercooler.

Re: 1.9TDI 74KW
mileage seems low for a 2008.
Cluster could be swapped. Scan the ECU to check if ECU mileage corresponds to the clocks.

Cluster doesnt need to have been swopped for mileage to be rolled.4ePikanini wrote:mileage seems low for a 2008.

The guy who bought my 9n3 gti just plugged in a blue device into the obd2 rolled the mileage from 220k to 80k both on ecu and cluster . vcds picks up both ecu and cluster mileage as 80k. I was shocked! Apparently he did it cause his work pays for maintenance and it must be under s certain mileage... be aware....

Your car never ceases to amaze me at the way it performs and continues doing its duties.
The fuel consumption is something else, Pure Epic. A car like that would be hard to to find a replacement for hence you will just have to drive it until the doors come out on its own.
On average monthly how many kilos you putting on?
