Boost issue on MK5 2.0TDI

Post by Viggo »

Howzit guys

Hope i can get a few pointers to help sort out my issue.

I recently replaced my turbo with a new turbo as the old one gave in and once this was done the turbo kicked in only between 2500 and 2900 rpm and then only i could feel that turbo surge, but lately my car doesnt nt boost at all when accelerating I get this vibrating noise that sounds like it is coming behind the dash and then i stop accelerating also i can hear this hissing noise on the drivers side it seems.

I tried to see why I am getting the hissing noise and I noticed that the boost pipe that comes from the intercooler at the bottom going to the turbo came out slightly and I pushed it back and put the retaining clip on, i drove the car for a while and the boost seemed to start picking up again but I still get the hissing sound, I am at wits end.

Can anybody advise what could be the problem and recommend a someone who can sort out this boosting issue on the east rand as it affects my overtaking especially when overtaking trucks .

Will appreciate all your assistance

Did you check the vacuum hose going to the turbo's actuator? Might be leaking and will affect boost or a boost leak in the boos pipes.

Panic Mechanic might be able to assist, he's also in the eastrand or close by.
