Cross polo 6r Tdi cambelt service

Post by kishan213 »

Need some advice. Recently purchased the car and it's due for its 120 000km service (2012 model). Quote at agents just over 12k. (Water pump/consumables/labour/ Cambelt repair kit). Car has a motorite extended warranty. My question .... Can I have it done at any workshop or does it have to be at the agents?

Be interested to know what an independent would charge, seen some Bosch branded RMI service stations charge not much less than the agents for some work.

Quote at agents is R15 652.00 for 120k inspection service and cambelt replacement. Labour at 850 an hour works out to 4.5k from agents. Will get some Rmi service centre quotes.

got quoted the same from audi recently.
got mine done for 7k, with a few extras done.
rmi shops would be around the 7k region as well with parts
or 5k parts 2k labour more or less

Does anyone know what the cambelt repair kit from agents consist of? Goldwagen quotes 2 rollers , tensioner, cambelt and a ribbed belt. Agents quote cambelt repair kit, water pump, ribbed belt. 3 bolts and coolant.

If the waterpump is operated by the cambelt, spending an extra R600 replacing it is suggested to avoid the cambelt being opened up again if the waterpump has to fail.
