I tested this the other day over about 200km, and came to the conclusion that the difference between my foot and the CC is about 0.5l/100km.

Irrelevant if it was done once with varying conditions imho. Longer testing is required.

CC most certainly heavier unless you have a heavy foot to begin with.

I like CC, so 'easy'' to drive with and I know I won't go speeding, as I set the speed to my GPS's km/h

I drove for 100km on the highway using CC, and then used the same road again on the return run using my foot and doing the same speed (110km/h). My foot got me 4.3l/100km, and CC got me 4.8l/100km. Same temperature and conditions, and I generally can get better mileage using my foot, but it required much more concentration.

I remember a few years ago testing different speeds in my Polo on the way to and from Vanderbijlpark. Trust me, 80km/h on a highway is dead boring...

Lets just say I've done some research on this (way more than 100km) and on my daily commute between Pta east and Rivonia, CC would maybe make a difference of 0.1-0.2 l/100km.

And over the 46km distance I can get the same consumption (3.5l/100) in both directions...

So we agree that it does make a difference, albeit very small? For interests sake, what speed to you do to get that consumption, I battle to get under 4l/100km

Scatman you must remember that he drives a 9n polo. There will always be a difference in consumption because the polo engine is different and uses unit injectors and the body is also different and lighter.

On my daily commute I rarely go faster than 110, traffic just doesn't allow for that however most of the fuel is consumed off the highway i.e. in the first and last 3km of the trip. When doing this I will stop on both sides with the OBC at about 3.9l/100km

So on Saturday for instance I was doing 120 all the way from Nelmapius to Swartkoppies (Alberton) and back with aircon running and the OBC read 4.2l/100km.

If I stick religiously to 80, consumption will go down to around 3.1 with about 3.4 readout at final destination on both sides. Obviously this will bore almost every Petrolhead to death, even Teh Catt. But that way you can get 1420km off a 54l tank.
