Warning light on dash??? *low pads*

Post by Dougi »

Hi all

So on the way to gym this morning at 4:30 on the high way in my 1.9tdi and after not driving it this whole week i thought i would burn it.
So i hit a speed that of x00kph and the Brake pad wear indicator light came on.
The thing is that the pads were replaced about 3 months ago.
what else could this be?

I have a feeling it could be where the pad indicator on the pad itself has a plug and the plug connects to the one to the car could be the issue as the car plug was ****. so will check it all the weekend and then see if I can get a new one
and solder a new one on

Won't low brake fluid rather trigger the brake warning light?

Pad sensor wire most likely broken. If the brakes are working and there is no grinding there is no reason not to drive it.

Mine had dirt in it that supposedly caused static to give error signals. weirdest thing I ever heard but a Mechanic told me that and I had them cleaned and poof problem gone.

These brake sensors are the biggest waste of time IMHO :bang:
Mine came out after replacing the pads. there is one on the right front and rear left. check those. I just pushed the two wires together and taped it up

This error is saying the I have low pads.

So as some of you know the wires that connect to the pad have a comment issue on the polos.
So I will make a plan this weekend and ill get to a scrap yard and get newer plugs and fix.
Thanks for the help all.

I didnt read all the posts but had the same issue, basically new pads but the sensor broke off, so I just opened it up, check if alles was ok and then bridged the wires and drove the car for ages until it was sold.

VGTI doesnt brake, his car slows down using air resistance - only a master of fuel consumption can achieve that
