BKY Engine ECU on BBY ENGINE

Post by mmahlambi »

Is it possible to use an ECU from a BKY engine in a BBY computer. These are the parts numbers: 03690603KJ (BKY). The one from the BBY engine was 036906034ED. Are these gonna be compatible?

The computers are not compatible with each other, but I think the engines are very similar.

If you have a BBY engine and need a computer box, then I think you have a problem.

On the other hand if your car broke the engine and a BKY is available as a swop then I think that could work as long as you use all the sensors and electronic parts from the old engine.

TL:DR electrical not the same, mechanical looks like the same.

I do stand for correction on this so don't take my word as gospel truth.

What has died and what are you replacing. IE is the ECU dead or did the engine die and you swopping motors?.
Swopping ECU will have issues with coding and immobiliser etc. Swopping engine will work.
