its a nice venue , we went for a show that wasnt just for cars and it was quite a dud but if a bunch of guys rocked up and this being a car specific show im sure it would be awesome , lots of peeps that side just have to roll out of bed to get there

C'mon guys, we gotta represent! This is a great chance to promote the club and get some free publicity! I wanna go, but then I am a bit of a show slut, hey!

As for any organizing etc from my side people can't expect to notify me 2 weeks prior to an event and expect anything to be arranged, especially given that this was just after we had finished up with the Dub Day and Breakfast run which took a lot of planning, and had organized a meet and greet and are currently in the throws of arranging the track day.

So to be honest I have not had the time to arrange anything from our side w.r.t. to this show. Added to this my wedding is a few weeks away and I have
a job, a life, and cars to detail on the weekends (to pay for the wedding ) - I therefore simply do not have the time for getting everyone together for this too.

But there is nothing stopping you guys going on your own to attend this and surely there doesn't need to be some kind of directive from 'the club or committee' before true dub enthusiasts want to attend an event like this?

How is it "pretty sad", for everyones own reasons they arent really fired up and keen to go to this thing. So everyone that hows a random car show in a car park and says its a VW event must now have official sanction..

You're more than welcome to go and enjoy yourself dude... and if you can convince or take other dubbers with then big ups to you representing but I dont think its on to call it sad when people have other prior commitments.

Firstly Balls, it's got nothing to do with being fired up or prior commitments or what you think of "rice car shows"! It was merely a suggestion that there should be some representation from the VW Club since it is a Ford/VW show! I would love to go and represent the club but my '96 GTi is still not "show-worthy", so I was hoping to get some of the guys with nicer rides to step up ... and it seems to have worked! Thanks to all those who are gonna attend, and I will certainly be there to support the guys, even if I can't enter my cabbie in the show.

@ 1point guess the vwsa kzn has plenty members now.
