Post by Rudi46 »

Hi guys

Got a car over the weekend with leather seats. Leather still good byt has some spots that have gone hard because of no treatment.
Which products would you sugest and methods to get these spots soft again. Seats are realy in a top condition. No tears or cracks or creaks.
Just the hard spots from sun or water.

Please advice will take pics tonight and post them.

Leather is black and Dark grey Inserts.

Thanks Again

with some APC. ( Dilution 1:20/25) depending on dirt depth.

leather treatment will need to be massaged in quite a few times IF the hardness is from leather not being treated

Hey bud!

Use detailing brush to get better results regardless of your choice in All-purpose cleaners.
https://www.poor-boys.co.za/product-tag/auto-dna/

Start with a test spot with least aggressive method and apply to the rest of the seats.

Send some pics when you get a chance.

Thanks guys for all the tips. Have been busy sorting the mechanical side of the car. Will see if I get some of that collinite and deff some detailing brushes. Saw a YouTube as that showed good results. Seats are really dried out. And dirty. Will post some before and after pics once done.

Hi Rudi46,

How did the leather restoration turn out?

I am in a similar position regarding buying a car with not looked after leather seats and would appreciate your feedback greatly.
