Palladium Silver Mercedes C300 - Detailed by Lawrence
First off.... apologies for not having posted much lately... life has been busy and I am a bit (ok a lot) behind on these sort of write ups etc...
This car was detailed at the end of June, and desperately needed it, as you can see from these pictures.
So as always the dirtiest part of the detail was tackled first - in this case it was the undercarriage. The fender well area, tyres, wheels and brake calipers were rinsed with a pressure washer and then sprayed with Carchem APC @1:5 through a Gloria Foammaster Hand Foamer, left to dwell, agitated and pressure rinsed again. This process was repeated on the fender well liners and tyres a 2nd time, and for the 2nd clean of the wheels, Valet Pro Billberry @1:6 was used. The wheels were then decontaminated using Carchem Revolt (x2) and Carpro Tar-x. The whole area was given a final clean when foaming the car itself during the wash. The fender well liners and tyres were dressed with Carpro PERL neat, and the wheels protected using Carpro Hydro II.

After (notice the lack of beading)
After applying Carpro Hydro II
The door and boot shuts, inside the fuel flap area, and in and around all emblems, badges and seams were then cleaned using Carchem APC @1:5 for and various wash mitts/brushes, and then rinsed using a low pressure spray through the hosepipe. The entire car was then pressure rinsed, then Carpro Iron-x Paste was then applied, left to dwell and pressure rinsed off. Carpro Tar-x was used to remove any tar spots from the the lower portion of the car The car was then sprayed down again, this time with Carpro Iron-x Snowfoam which was then left to dwell before being pressure rinsed off. Shied Heavy Duty Clay was then used to clay off any remaining contaminants.
Paint measurements were taken and sensitive areas taped off before paint correction began. There was a very varied approach to this one.
Bonnet: Menzerna SHC300 / Lake Country Blue Hybrid Foamed Wool + spot repair some areas again with this same combo, followed by Menzerna PF2300 / Lake Country Orange Hybrid, followed by Carpro Essence / Lake Country White Hybrid
The paint was then sealed using Gyeon Cure.
Roof/Bootlid: Menzerna PF2300 / Lake Country Orange Hybrid (x2), followed by Carpro Essence / Lake Country White Hybrid
B-Pillars: Menzerna SHC400 / Lake Country Orange Hybrid, followed by Carpro Essence / Lake Country White Black
Everything else: Menzerna PF2300 / Lake Country Orange Hybrid, followed by Carpro Essence / Lake Country White Hybrid
All the other details were then taken care of - the glass was cleaned using Meguiars Crystal glass cleaner, the rubbers and exterior plastics with Shield heavy Duty Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner then dressed with Carpro PERL and the exhaust tips polished with Mothers Aluminium Polish.
Here are a few after pics.
Total time taken = 30 hours
Thanks for looking and as always any questions or comments are welcome

Thanks - in terms of products, I am constantly trying out new products, some of which land up finding a permanent home on my detailing shelf, whilst others get used till the bottle is done and not replaced.Rsi huntered wrote:Nice work Lawrence
