Karcher foam canon

Post by panic-mechanic »

Anybody tried this?.

friend of mine has one. works ok, but I've heard they don't last.. think Sebz had a crazy detailer one, maybe chat to him about that one. I got my foam lance/canon (the hell the name really is) from Karen( a.k.a Richard's mom), was R600 with postnet to postnet delivery) and I'm happy with it so far. (it also fits on the Karcher). foam i get from crazy detailer, been using the CarChem ultimate snow foam and so far so good

I have both the karcher one and the one from crazy detailer... the small premium for the cd one is a no brainer. The karcher one is a POS...

I would not waste my time with the Karcher one - sure, with some decent pressure behind it from something like a K7 you can get decent foam from it - I remember Vish posted a vid a while back. However, given the (now) small price difference, I'd rather spend the bit extra on the Crazy Detailer one, which is made more solidly (brass opposed to plastic), and uses a replaceable metal gauze to create the aeration/foam whereas the Karcher one simply uses a plastic mesh design which is nowhere near as good, especially with lower pressured pressure washers.

The CD one works really well, I'd say spend the extra bit and opt for it over the Karcher one.

Ok looks like I am going to have to get the cd one rather. Thought it's easy to pop into game and pick one up if they are decent.
Why are there no suppliers of detailing product this side of the city.?

Everything is relaxed in cape town man. If you order stuff and it arrives 5 days later nobody cares or noticed. Here we want stuff like yesterday man. Just stare at the mountain a bit more or go kite surf.

Which model Karcher do you have Panic?
Like Lawrence mentioned, it was a waste of time on my K2

The CD one foams like a Boss on my K2

Hope this helps you make your decision..last Friday I got the itch to go check out the Crazy Detailer foam cannon. They had/have a special on the CD cannon + 1 litre Carchem ultimate Snow foam for R650.
On Saturday ,tried out the cannon on the Gti and man was that foam laid on thick (was so excited -forgot to take pics  )The great thing about the Carchem mix is that it does indeed lift the dirt from the surface.Just for kicks decided to try the Mothers High gloss mix in the CD cannon and whilst it also foams up well -it isn't as good as lifting up the surface dirt. You could actually see the dirt on the washing mitt which is not what foaming is supposed to do -its supposed to lift off the dirt.So after this will stick with Carchem product. Machine that I have is the Karcher K2.360
By the way -I tried the Mothers mix on the Polo Vivo(the Gti is too good for a cheaper product)

Mine took 2, although the box was messy. But they sent me another box of products 2 days later free of charge to make up for the stuff-up. Really great service.

Every order has taken 2 days though so its awesome :hi:

Email CD and ask if they sell replacement bottles. I also found that the Carchem snowfoam bottle has the same thread so you can use a old bottle.
