Reflections Detailing : 911 (997) Turbo

Post by Lambchop »

Hi Guys,

So I finally had the opportunity to detail one of my favorite 911's. This is one heck of a car and to say its 10 years old it really hasn't aged much when compared to other brands of cars. This particular 911 has an Akropovic exhaust which sounds absolutely mental on cold start.

The 911 was washed, decontaminated and went through multiple stages of correction. I finally finished off with Gtechniq coatings to give it some lasting protection. The interior leather was also treated

Paintwork wasnt bad but full of RIDS on the doors. One of my next upgrades is lighting and i don't think it can come soon enough. Halogen lights work okay and so do LED lights but need something more dedicated to detailing. I seriously don't know how some "detailers" detail outside or under carports etc.

the 911 was foam washed and washed using the 2BM. Followed by a clay and decontamination. The clay picked up quite a bit of filth off the paint and the iron deposits were minimal

Paint readings were taken and the average was 140-160 Micron

I was asked to clean the leather on this car .. and let me tell you this car has alot of leather. Not sure what was was used as a treatment but it was everywhere. Black silicone rubbish. The before pics were taken late at night but you get the idea of the type of stuff i had to deal with

Can I suggest covering the brake discs when doing the detail so the discs still stay nice and silver
