Salesrep silver Ibiza Cupra - by SeventyFourFour
Marcel (Scratch) brought his beloved little Cupra for some correction work.
The car had been in a front end collision a while back and got repaired.
Marcel also had a very elaborate theme for Dubrun, and when he pulled the tape off, the imprint of the texture from the blue tape was left behind on the resprayed panels.
Coupled with that, there was some or other droplets on the passenger side rear bumper, and a lot of fine swirling evident on the paint.
The brief was to correct as much as I can, and only stick to exterior items. So, this was a fairly simple detail.
I was not able to remove the droplet marks completely from the rear bumper, as it had attacked the clearcoat & etched in.
I was able to correct about 90% of the swirling, but the car had been polished aggressively at the panel shop & there were a few spots that they had already struck through the clearcoat & base coat.
Process & kit used:
- HP rinse the entire car
- Foamed with a APC & Carchem luxury shampoo mix
- HP rinsed again
- Washed with Carchem luxury shampoo & 2BM
- HP rinsed once more
- Stickers on the filler cap, sides & rear window removed with warm water
- Entire car clayed with a fine clay & soapy water
- Exhaust tips sprayed with APC, left to dwell, agitated with brushes, rinsed, steel wool & polishing cream applied, polished with autosol & sealed with carnuba paste wax
- HP rinsed, washed & HP rinsed again
- Dried with an MF towel & inspected
- DA Polisher, medium pad & Menzerna 2400
- DA polisher, finishing pad & pre-glaze wax
- Sealed with Collinite #845
- Left to sit overnight & buffed off with a thick pile MF Towel
- Windows cleaned & coated with C-Thru
- Trim coated with Carchem tyre & trim
----Wheels, tyres, arches & calipers----
- HP rinsed
- Undiluted Carchem Citrus APC applied to everything, left to dwell & agitated with various brushes
- HP rinsed again
- Carchem Revolt sprayed onto wheels & calipers & left to dwell, agitated with various brushes
- APC diluted 1:10 applied to Revolt & agitated once again
- HP rinsed again
- All dried off, wheels & calipers were sealed with DNA wheel cream & left to sit overnight
- Buffed off with a thick pile MF towel
- Tyres dressed with DNA tyre gel, arches dressed in Carchem trim & tyre
Before & After:
Pics for clicks
Seeing as though I had done all the other lamin-x film on his car, he asked me to also wrap his bootspoiler brake light & rear reflectors.
All-in-all, it took me about 11-12 hours to complete.
Hope you guys enjoy

That's pretty much like asking how long a piece of string is.Sureshan wrote:What the price for one of these details ?

It's all dependant on the damage, what level of correction the client requires, what product you use, how much time you put in, what all you want done etc.
Too many factors to give a solid price, as each car & owner's needs are different, you base it on that
