I did some reading on vortex a while back and the dudes there seem to recon that Kiwi shoe dye(not polish!) is the way to and that is offers the best results. What do you guys think? My Mk2 is a CSL so it has or should I say, it had that chrome type strip that goes around the bumper. The chrome covered by some clear type plastic which after 24 years has cracked in various places letting water get in behind the chrome strip and make it rust and/or get dirty. I am not too worried about that at the moment but would like to get the bumpers nice and black again(without spraying them!!)

ideas guys, thanks!

Got any pics to share? would like to see how bad they are?

Most quality trim restorers should work but depending on above, may take a few repeated applications

Meguiars Ultimate Protectant
Chemical Guys Black on Black (or even Bare Bones works too)
Adams VRT
Aerospace 303
Peanut butter   But yeah a cheap way of doing it, that, according to a lot of international literature, actually works.... but I'd give it a miss if it were me.

Yeah that is not too far gone mate...

A couple repeated applications of any of the above products and you should be good to go

Another pic of my 16v done with Kiwi Liquid:

And I will continue using Kiwi Liquid Shoe Shine on My next vehicles to come, U need only apply about 3 times on 1st time, it soakes in and does not dry up leaving what silicone does, it does not attract dust and once soaked in, U need only treat once a month.
