Methanol Injection 1.8T

Post by Zee »

Hi all

I have searched the discussion threads about water/methanol injection and realised that it really does make the car run more efficiently and that Aquamist would be my best bet. Also read that the 1.8T engines need to be tuned when using it for optimal performance. Some questions I have are:
1. What needs to be tuned, where can I get it done in Pretoria/Jhb and cost?
2. Where can I get this Aquamist injection kit and cost?
3. Is it easy to install?
4. What power gains can I expect?

My Golf 4 1.8T currently has a FRC chip and 63mm exhaust with downpipe.

I’ve searched for other ways to increase power and realised that installing any air filter other than the stock one will lead to MAF sensor problems and will not do anything in terms of power gains. But I am looking for a Samco induction pipe for cold air intake.

1. Where can I buy this Samco pipe from in Pta/Jhb and cost?
2. Is it easy to install?
3. Power gains?

I must say that without this forum I would still have been running a standard 110 kW 1.8T and would have been depressed.
