Post by AEther »

Hi guys

I am a student and have to buy my first car. Howerver I dont know much about cars, so where better to gain knowledge than on this forum.

Can you guys please tell me what car ( and why ) between the Life, Velocity 1.4i and the rhythm is the best to buy? What other options do I have? Please help!

Thanx alot

Life = 1.6 fuel injection
Velociti 1.4 = basicly the same as life just newer and 1.4 fuel injection
Rythm = 1.4 carb citi with mags ans f/l cd player.

Personally I would look for a Life in a good condition.

Hi,

I recently bought a Citi Life WITH the new dash and velocity mags for R64500.

The life looks better than the velocity, but that is a matter of opinion. I do like the black roof lining on the velo, but the steering and clusters suck.

The life also has the "bucket" seats, smoked tail lights, and a polo-type steering wheel.

yes, it does... What I'm actually trying to say is that a Life is in fact exactly the same as a velo, except for the roof lining, steering wheel, cluster and those silver vent frames.

But, a new Velo 1.6i will probably cost me R98000, where the Life cost me only R64500.

Well... that is the only downside to buying a second hand vehicle. She's got 128000 km on the clock, but the guy I bought it from, had property in CT, so he drove a lot from JHB to CT. The car inside and out looks as if it was pulled straight of the sales floor. It is mint conition, except for the high Km.

It's always better to buy a car with long distance km than buying a car that did al that km in town !!

Pitty u dont live in PE/Uitenhage. You coulda bought a VW employees ex-lease car: Life/Velociti/Dot.com for very, very cheap :!:

My mom leased a Dot.com fro 6months, then bought it when the lease was over. She only paid R50000 and it only had 22500km on the clock.

(She works at VW)
