Golf IV GTI - Detailed in and out (56k beware!!)

Post by xion »

Another day at the office - this time around was an 11 year old GTI

Not a favourite colour for the page turning magazine readers.
The vehicle was booked in for a 2 stage polish and an interior detail.

First up some before of what the exterior of the 11 year old looks like
Let’s just say this car was filthy period.

I don’t think the inner wheels have ever been cleaned in all of its years! The owner was advised that the wheels were in need of a refurbish, thats the price you pay for not giving your vehicle the attention it deserves.
The wheels were stained from road paint and pitted from years of neglect.
For now just a basic cleaning will have to do for now.
Wheels were cleaned using APC and Autoglyms - custom wheel cleaner and de-tarred

What the 11 year old's exhaust looked like

All the other nooks and crevices got extreme strong wash as well.

After which the vehicle was foamed and rinsed using the pressure washer.
Then it was time for a 2 bucket method wash using extreme strong wash and maxi suds.

After the vehicle was washed and rinsed it was onto claying.

After claying the vehicle was rinsed again and dried then taped up and ready for day one of polishing. The vehicle was heavy swirled and had its 11 years of random scratches but for the love of it trying to photograph the defects where fruitless due to my excellent camera skills so just simply pressed on with polishing.

After spending 2 days of polishing it was time for the interior!!!!!

What the interior of this 11 year old looked like ….hold onto your seats!!!!
