Run away Diesel engines

Post by Ivers1 »

Hi All
After reading many post on different forums including this forum i want to share some safety devices for this problem.
Being a qualified mechanic and Master technician we have developed a safety system for run away diesel engines. This was developed for the mining industry where we shut the engine down in this situation. Turbo charger wear is the most common fault on run a way engines. On warn turbo chargers the bearings start wearing thus causing oil to bypass the seal on to the air intake side of the turbo. When oil enters the air intake the engine start running on its own oil, this situation causes commonly know as "RUN AWAY ENGINE. Knowing the mining industry run away engines can be be very serious in safety aspects. We have fitted these kits many Land Rovers , Toyota & VW engines. We still produce kits for this application.

Regards
Ivan
