EPC light for POLO VIVO 1.4GP

Post by Phoenix976 »

hi there
hope u are well and i am not disturbing u guys. my EPC light has been going on for at least a year now and i have been changing spark plugs, doing the service and even changing all 4 coil packs. last week i had the injectors taken off and cleaned and still the EPC light comes on. now the mechanic wants me to do another diagnostic and i have paid R1500 for 3 diagnostics, R2400 for coil packs and R1500 for cleaning injectors. i am really sick of this problem now. do you have a machine that can check errors or do u know what the problem can be? The mechanic now says it could be the throttle body that needs a service and replacing the sensors.

you have been scammed, i don't think you should be paying for diagnostic every time you come to the same mechanic especially if your keeps on showing the same faults. i am not a mechanic but i do diagnostics and support on that regard.
I charge R200 for diagnostic and if its basic staff i sort it out but if its deep i can refer you to the specialist. send you diagnostic report so that we can see.

I agree.

My suggestion is to replace the mechanic.

Depending on your location we could perhaps recommend you to someone who can do a better job.

Good afternoon guys, hope u are well. Its 2023 and i still have the same problem. Its burning out spark plugs now. Every 6 months i have to replace spark plugs. It gives only misfire on cylinder 2 all the time. EPC light goes on and limp mode kicks in and diagnostic only picks up cylinder 2 misfire.
What can be the problem?
Pressure test done and compression test and only cylinder 2 is irregular but the motor is solid.

Have you considered seeking a second opinion from another mechanic or diagnostic service to address the persistent issue with the EPC light, misfire on cylinder 2, and frequent spark plug replacements in your Polo Vivo 1.4 GP?
