Advise: In market of trading & Buying another GTi

Post by Camo »

Hi guys

Please help.
I currently own a 2008 G5 Gti (DP, Intake, 20"Wheels, lowered,..etc) and have been loving it for the last 5-years with not a days issues, however I am in the Market for a later model GTI and cannot decide or make up my mind.

I need help with pros and cons and what would be better to mod and be reliable like the G5 :hi: ...
MODS: (DP, INTAKE, SW)

Options
2013 - GTi 6 DSG
2013 - GTi 6 ED35 DSG
2013 - GTi 6 .:R DSG
2013 GTi 7 DSG

NB: This wont be a daily drive so not worried about fuel consumption

Thank you in advance

Golf 7. The R is in essence a car that is 12 years old, same as the GTI you already have.

If the age of an R or ed35 doesn't bother, then get either.
If then you looking for a newer car then the G7, but be aware of turbo issues.

Cereal? Haven't heard of this before. Do you know how many more cases of popped turbos there are?

Check the tread, but it's mostly G7 drivers sharing their experiences of blown turbo after mods across the globe - also the technician confirmed that it's a known issue on G7
