Golf is a WAY better buy now imo.
That's so true and another nail on the coffin is that 3 door hatches in this country will never outshine their 5 door versions.

Tested 2015 Golf R using onboard lap timer at sea level with a warm engine: 0-100KPH time completed in 4.8 seconds.

Coincides with my 2015 S3 sedan figure of 4.84s. Mine is marked as a "210kW" S3, but I'm pretty sure all of the S3's and Golf R's, of that era, made similar power regardless of the marketing speak.
