Illegal drag racing....

In other accidents, two people in a stationary Opel Monza were killed on Saturday morning when two vehicles smashed into them.

The accident happened on Fischer Road in Waterfall.

One person from the Opel was flung out and died at the scene while the second burned to death when the car burst into flames.

Five others were seriously injured and taken to R K Khan hospital, Chatsworth.
....and we wonder why the cops are trying so hard to stamp it out?

Hardly 'Illegal Drag Racing'? Was a Tazz and a 1400 Champ speeding along Fisher Rd in Hillcrest! 8)

Eish that's sad but i don't really you call that drag
racing.even though it is illegal drag racing but it is
organised to a certain extent.oh and the racing was
happening in durban this weekend i don't think there
was any racing in hillcrest.

I don't care what you wanna call it...when 2 cars are travelling fast enough along a small road through Waterfall to BOTH hit a stationary car, throwing one occupant out to his death and then exploding into flames causing the second to burn to death, and resulting in another 5 ending up in hospital....illegal, legal, sensationalism or whatever, it's totally fcuking crazy!

:x

and have been lucky to get away with it !!!!!

only way 2 cars could have hit a stationary vehicle... is... well... they were aiming for him? or he was standing horizontal across the road just after a turn.. how did the vehicle explode anyways, NOS?

it is sad that people died, but everything cant be blamed on drag racing, was probably 2 illegal immigrants without licences trying to overtake one another on a turn/blind rise

If anyone knows Fisher road as I do, those okes are dorks!! Truely Sad I agree for the innocents!!! But dorks, its a tiny little dodge road, hardly worthy of a drag, full of potholes and bumps.
I can guarantee you it was Indigenous folk, since the road goes down into the location :P
Rather on the main road out to Hillcrest, now thats a stretch of drag worthyness, provided its 3am in morning!! ;)

... reminds me of the time I witnessed two white Golofs (no names mentioned) laying rubber through central Hillcrest during a breakfast run to Camelot! Fcuking loonatics!

...two white Golofs? I musta missed that one...

Sure, we've all done it but this is just not the same...a quick run from 1st to 2nd gear on a double lane road as against (as Elandman says) Fisher road, more like a rutted single lane in a dodge area...if you're gonna run someone, at least make sure you're on a decent strip of road with some space, or even better...take it to Phakisa or TTT at least!

Once again it begs the question...when are we gonna get a track in KZN?

Ok, so now its legal illegal drag racing if you got a good section of road? WTF? :? :P 8)

I just dont think the authorities would agree with that statement Mike! NO racing on public roads means NO racing on public roads!!!

... bwahahahaha, well I just took the Volvo off the clock on the way down towards the toll plaza. Had an awesome race against some mofo in a Polo GTi! To say I opened him 15 car lengths is being kind! Thank **** it was a three lane open stretch of road where we could 'safely' do 240kmh!

if anyone is keen I organize 'organized' drag racing events on saturday nights in Brackenhill Road which is off Fischer road. There's a hill climb event as well and if you dont stop in time at the end of Brackenhill road you end up in Inanda dam for the early Sunday morning bass fishing event !! (Bass as in the Fish not Bass as in the ICE)
