What about those new quiet roads in umhlanga behind Garden court?
There's parking spaces and nobody ever use those roads in the evenings..
Directions - outside autostyle facing gateway,at T junction turn left and go straight passed the Hotel on the right,go thru the roads that take you to umhlanga rocks drive and you there..

The KFC parking lot area in umhlanga rocks drive. Right at coastlands hotel and the Harley Dealership? Think there is a bar at the harley spot, not sure though.

This is pretty much the plan.

From next month's M&G onward we are looking at:

a) putting up a poll for which day of the week the M&G will be held on, most votes win, and
b) putting up a poll for which VENUE the M&G will be held at, most votes win

However it is important that you all realize that as the committee we first need to assess the venue for its suitability to host a VW Club meet and greet, not only in terms of its practicality for you the members, but also in terms of potential negative associations for the club.

We welcome all of your proposed ideas on locations, and if the committee believes it is a viable option, we will include it in the list of options on the poll.

Each month the day of the week and location will be re-polled to ensure we are constantly pleasing the majority - remember we can never please everyone all of the time.

What's up gents.
Nice to see a thread of this sort going and yes I am very very guilty of not attending M&G's but purely because of the day on which its held on as well as the time. I think a lot of guys also don't attend because they would feel out of place and struggle to first mingle with the rest of the crew. Yes its a 2 way thing, I know.

Anyway, since I have sort of moved, I am sure I will be attending some of the M&G's going forward.
Looking forward to hearing about the locations... :hurray:

I believe this is a common problem for all guys coming to their first M&G - it is certainly how I felt at mine.

BUT

I really do believe that the existing 'regulars' are very welcoming and go out of their way (well most of us any way  ) to make you feel welcome.

You really don't know how you will fit in until you try.

Take comfort in knowing you are coming into a group of like minded car enthusiasts and so there will always be common ground between us, and this in itself makes it that much easier to 'get into the group' and get to know the guys.

I really do hope more 'new' faces would start appearing at the M&G's and hopefully the change of date/venue will aid this....
