Lunch Run to Wartburg

Post by ScottiesKJ »

Right Gents

We are doing a FAMILY event so bring your SO, sister, brother, aunty granny, children and NIECE (Lawrence) along for the day.
Date is 8th December 2013. We would like to arrive at the Hotel at 12pm

We can then take a drive along the N2 (or the old road depending on what everyone wants) to just past Tongaat, where we will turn off onto the R614 and head up to the Wartburger Hof hotel in Wartburg. The route offers lots of twisties and undulating roads which should be awesome to drive, and is a nice and scenic route.

I have chatted to the Hotel and they keen on this event and are busy with a menu for us. So far we looking at R 120 per person and this
Will be either a 3 course meal or a full on spread. Once I have confirmation from the Hof (no not PUNI or David Hasselhoff) I will post up more details.
We need to get a list and numbers of people keen so i can let the Hotel know and book the required amount of seats and food for you.

Payment will be done to Mitch to secure your plate of food. "No Pay No Eat" I will confirm an amount as soon as I can.

Please put your name on the list below if you are keen on joining us for this event

Unfortunately I am not available (detailing again  ) so won't be able to join you guys.

Neither will my niece

:troll:

Having driven this route a couple of times, one of which was to the same spot you guys are going for lunch, I can tell you that you will thoroughly enjoy not only the drive itself, but the venue too. There is plenty of space, really good chow, and a little 'animal farm' type jol for the kids, with a jungle gym and what not.

Should make for a really good day out and so I encourage you all to go along and enjoy!

Yoh dude - if I lived in your neck of the woods I would not be in the house but out joy riding along that rode all day long....

It is an awesome 60 odd km's of driving pleasure.... granted there is one section where there are a few speed bumps that may catch the unaware out when peddling along, but the rest of it is awesome :driving:

I remember one year on the way to a track day at Hesketh, Fray and I decided to take the much longer route via Wartburg just to enjoy the road.... I don't think 2 little polo playas have ever been hammerfcuked so badly before...but what a joyous drive it was

Gents, we need your input in order for us to properly plan good events. This was to be an awesome run, but obviously it is not going to be viable with low numbers.

So, what is the issue as asked above? It will be good for Comm to know so we can take this into account when putting future events together.

We will be organising more action events next year. However, these type of events require huge amounts of money, which ends up being unrecoverable if we have a poor turnout. The more support we get from KZN members for all events, the easier it is to arrange the bigger events.
