Harrismith Run to coincide with Dubrun`

Post by lawrence »

Hi guys

So as I am sure you are aware, the annual Dubrun will take place on the 29th June 2012. http://www.vwclub.co.za/phpbb3/viewtopi ... 0&t=139465

Our plan is:
To meet up at Volksie on the evening of the 27th for a tape up and a bit of a social.
To leave either at lunch time or after work on the 28th from the Pavillion (you guys need to comment on which departure time is more suitable)
To travel up to a place called The Green Lantern Inn (Top of Van Reenen's Pass) 280km from Durban and spend the night there. (Double Occupancy = R695.00 per room, per night - Single Occupancy R495.00 per room, per night)
We will then join the Dubrun convoy on the 29th enroute back to Durban.

More details will follow in due course in terms of what happens once we arrive in Durban however this is an early heads up so that you can start planning your lives accordingly.

Note that we will have to pre-book accommodation at the Green Lantern and as such we need your to confirm your attendance.

Accommodation for 40 guests - special rates for block bookings - so we may be able to take advantage of this!!!
Full size snooker table and pool table
Best wholesome pub meals served halfway between Johannesburg and Durban - kitchen open from 7.00 am to 8.30 pm in the evening.
Well stocked bar (so Rob should be ok)

Is there a jacuzzi at this Green Lantern?

Why are the prices so steep?

Harrismith Run to coincide with Dubrun`

Post by MeTsU »

We keen, just would prefer the after work departure as we leave PE on Thurs 28th and usually arrive in Durbs close to 5pm.

Lawrence, keep me in the loop please. We hoping to have 4+ cars from PE this year.

Will do bud.

I also think a lot of the guys will be keen on an 'after work' departure as it will save them from having to take a half day's leave...
