Got to the venue a bit late and didnt stay too long.

Met some old friends, but didnt get to meet anyone from the BB.

Saw some interesting runs, S3 334kw and 500 odd nm, just missed Junaids C63 that did around 300 kw, black citi 2lt 98kw and a Rocc that did 191kw (apparently the fastest Rocc worldwide - ran somewhere in the 13s bracket, can anyone verify this?). Neval in the silver OPC also did around the 330kw mark.

How accurate is this dyno? Coz I saw some high figures compared to what I see up here in Jhb.

All in all, it was a nice event

Those seem sky high, especially if the ambient temp was so hot??

This guy always says his Dyno is at the wheels but can't be right.

When I took my TDI there & flashed the car back to stock it made
99kws (with PD160+ K&N flatbed)

thereafter loaded the software on, it made 124kws
(still needed to adapt) :driving:

Yeah they all look like the fly wheel Kwts dude, some impressive torque and decent kwts there man...

How is your graph looking? post it up...

And how did they manage to dyno the ST? My friend told me when he tried the car shuts off when it realises the rear wheels are not spining...

Dynos are a contentious issue, as they all vary. I believe they all read wheel (ATW) power, and then convert to flywheel using various factors which can be adjusted, including ambient temp. That means it depends on what factors are being used and when last it was calibrated which will determine the accuracy. I have seen my buddies Astra TS get 177Kw ATW on the FastCar dyno and then 250Kw ATW on the SAC dyno! As for Tuneserve dyno, that one is a resistance dyno and puts your car under HUGE load. In fact when they dyno'd my Corsa GSi for NOS, it was blowing out red-ochre dust from the exhaust because of the tremendous manifold temperatures generated! I must also say that I saw my buddies Mini/Toyota 20V break on that dyno. Hope that helps...

They really are a contentious issue Mike, I personally hate dyno's and if I can avoid them unless I really have to.

I knew the guy personally that worked on my car after I put the cam in (Albert), I trusted him so I wasn't as bad a nervous wreck as I thought I would be.

On the SAC dyno, My car was 73kw before the cam, and 82kw after the cam at Tuneserv.

all I know is that I only preferred the power of the cam after tuning.
