KZN Committee

Sup guys, looks like the KZN section is starting to rock again. M&G's picking up hope to make one soon.

Just a suggestion maybe we should look at forming a committee to get some structure.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Brandon, but not sure I want to take it on, as I am looking at going back to the US of A! I will certainly be on the committee and do all I can to build the KZN section, but can't say how long I will be here.

How about DevZo? He should be on the committee at least. And Kiran ... he should be there just because his cabby is so hot!!

Anyone else interested? Next meeting we can take a vote and talk more about it so we can get something sorted.

Maybe we throw some names around and see if the guys will be willing to take up the responsibility. Then we arrange a voters day, maybe a braai afterwards and we can finalise the committee.

P.S. on weekend please. Unfortunately not all of us are Durban Nightriders

I can't just be on the commitee coz my car looks nice
I think we should get a panel of guys as there will be alot to do & I am sure all the guys wana have an input in the club instead of listening just to one guy... thats just my 2c

im with Kiran on this one, def makes more sense to have a panel of guys-instead of having one person to delegate...

a bit off topic but pertinent non-the-less, any idea who has all the VW club merchandise? Stickers, t-shirts etc?
is there anyone that has signed up(and paid) and still hasn't received their membership packs? I think we need to get all these little things sorted before the new year...

Initially there were with Bos, and Solo or Adhil were suppose to get them not sure if they did. I did not pick my membership pack from last year.

I think its a great idea! Definately need to get KZN going properly and a proper commitee will help speed things up.

A panel is the way forward but there should be some form of hierarchy so a final decision is always made.

I like the idea of a commitee. There is definitely a lot of interest for dubs in KZN so if there is a structured club all the better.

I don't have any objections with that list so far - I would suggest that anyone who wants to take the reigns actually be a VWCSA member. I've always been reluctant to pay for membership because there wasn't any interest. Now that there is interest, I'll happily become a member.

@ CASp3r ... thanks, man. I really have no idea how long before it goes through, as it is still in the application stages, so it could be 6 months or a year? In the meantime, I will do my best to build the membership so that it is easier to hand over. It's really not that difficult, but takes a lot of commitment and time ... and I've got enough of that! I maybe showing my age now, but I ran the GSi Club in the '90s and the Opel Owners Club a couple of years back (yes, I owned some hot Slopels), so have some experience and plenty of petrol in veins!

It seems like there is a great bunch of enthusiastic guys, and plenty of commitment, so lets just see what we can do.

Agreed man 100%. Things need to happen or else we all will be paying for no reason. Plus how many of us are even paid up members?

So should we start putting some prospective dates for final votes.

P.S. A case of beer gets my vote hehehehe...

Really glad to hear that is some enthusiasm still pumping there! and that the meets are picking up and people showing some more interest.

I've spoken to both mike and devzo over PM and we'll sort something out. The left over packs are wrapped up and kept safe, so they'll be picked up and distributed.

Funny how people only realize now after a year that they still haven't collected their membership packs
