S3 8P RNSE with BOSE to Android head unit

Post by Jet Li »

Greetings!

I have upgraded from the original RNSE radio to Android unit and need help on few things.

1. Power related - the android unit switches on/off with the ignition and need help on how to run it without the ignition.

2. BOSE/Subwoofer related - all speakers play and I can hardly hear the subwoofer. There is sound from the subwoofer but its very low to notice. Had to put my hand on it to feel the vibrations. Is there anyway to maintain the same subwoofer's sound quality as with the original headunit?

Otherwise Android is a noticeable improvement from the depressing OEM RNSE. Thanx

Sorry for late reply.

Bought it on the forum for 3k and its a great unit with Wi-fi and 3g modem. No reverse camera yet, still looking though. Its worth every cent and I intend to change all my radios with Android units as soon as I can afford them. I hope that answers your questions.

Does your new Android headunit have straight plug and play steering wheel compatibility and was any coding needed to get that to work? Does it sync up with the multifunction display in the speedo cluster?

1. Its plug and play yes and controls just worked with no coding whatsoever.
2. It doesn't display on the cluster.
3. Even Parking Optical Sensors are not supported by this radio.

Its better for the Polo 6C since you can find the Android addon for the original radio and still maintain other OEM functions. Hope that helps
