I am having this problem when I am playing my sony front loader around 20 on volume which is not that loud it cuts out especially when bass comes in, its a standard front loader with 2 "3.5 inch" door speakers, running on a standard 618 willards battery, no amp nothing special
What could be the problem is it getting to little power from the battery or what
many thanks

Re: radio cutting out
HI CaddyClub
Is this a new install or something that has just started happening. Do you have direct power from the battery to the YELLOW wire and the accessory power on the RED? does the radio go completely off and restarts or is it just a "power dip" . Lets eliminate power issues before we settle on faulty Sound IC's. You can try connecting the radio directly to the battery with a speaker and do the same test ie, vol up to 20 and see if it re-occurs. If it does then its def a power issue. Lemme know how it goes.

Re: radio cutting out
the radio is not new lets say 5 years old or so, and its been doing it for a while now, it has completely power cut with radio full off for a second or 2 then it comes on again, it happens mainly when the bass comes in
the radio must be connected directly to power battery, it comes on without ignition connected
thanks

Re: radio cutting out
IMO this sounds like a coil issue in one of the speakers that have went out of alignment. If so try doing this.Choose a song and remember at what TIME it cuts off.now with the system off disconnect all speakers.play the same song at the same volume. If the system doesnt cut off then its prob one of the speakers, Now connect one speaker at a time keeping the same volume, keep adding speakers until it cuts off again. the last speaker that you added when it cut off could be the issue. Lemme know how it goes.

Re: radio cutting out
After this test you will know. we cannot rule out faulty power IC's or sound IC's until this has been done. let hope the testing above resolves the issue

Re: radio cutting out
When the bass "hits" is when the coil moves the most. If the coil "arcs" then that would send a signal to the head unit telling it that there is a connection problem somewhere. Then head unit goes into a protection mode by switching off so that you do not blow the channel
