Sound deadening citirox front doors?
Hi,
I would like to ask advise and tips from the sound guys in sound deadening my front doors in my citirox. I will be installing 6.5inch mids possibly
with spacers and was thinking to sound deaden the doors for extra bass and less vibration. I intend on fitting the polk audio db652 mids.
Is there any tips what to cover in/on the door and what to look out for? Any advise welcome.
Thanks!

From my limited experience it's just peel and stick, then roll out the air bubbles.

Re: Sound deadening citirox front doors?
Yeah iv seen the application parts seems having some sort of a roller helps much with smoothing out air and application. I was thinkingEX-DOHCTOR wrote:From my limited experience it's just peel and stick, then roll out the air bubbles.
that someone has done a Mk1 specifically the doors and can advise tips on placement and also best application. Also taking in consideration
to moisture in the door when washing/winter etc etc...

Re: Sound deadening citirox front doors?
Hey Bud
So when i installed my RF prime Splits on my Velociti. I use Sound deadeing on the front doors.
remove Oe Speakers and built like a Cup/Housing with the deadeing so the mids was almost sealed which actually sounded good,
for RF entry level splits. But make sure that the speaker wires are properly insulated they might short on the deadeing.
There is a plastic sheet behind the door card which helps with shaping the deadeing into a cup .
hope it helps you.

Re: Sound deadening citirox front doors?
Thanks, I didn't think of going that route yes I was intending on keeping the plastic in (there to keep water off the inside door guard) but wasn't sure to use the sound deadening on the inside of the actual door itself there by reducing vibration on the entire door or using the sound deadening on the inside door guard/panel...Preggz wrote:Hey Bud

Late, but here they are. On the 2 door it was basically 1 and 1/4 sheet per door. On a regular 4 door I reckon you could get away with one sheet maybe.

Re: Sound deadening citirox front doors?
I think one per door will work yes. Will have to cut in smaller pieces and piece together since all my door extra's will be on. Thinking of adding extra thin hardboard to the existing door guards backing in the shape of the open holes in the actual door panel that way kinda sealing the open gaps with more solid board without adding extra thickness to the door guard when clipping back in. Il try and take detailed pics so that this thread can be a help to the next person coming along (both 2 door and 4 door visuals).EX-DOHCTOR wrote:Late, but here they are. Many thanks again for all the advise and help!

Re: Sound deadening citirox front doors?
I am also going to line the inner metal skin of the door with sound proofing before the new door cards go on.
There are recessed sections that could do with some padding.
