Help with sound interference/noise.

Post by duggy8v »

Hi

I recently installed a JVC KD-G521.

Now whenever an electrical component comes on in car, it can be heard in the speakers. For instance, when indicating, it sounds from speakers which are amplified. Or when a CD is spinning or a track is skipped, you can hear the sound of skipping and spinning from the woofer.

Any advice ?

Is your amp properly grounded?
Have you checked the earth strap on the battery?

you need to run your power cables for the amp on one side of the car and your rca cables for the amp on the other side of the car.

Hi, ground is fine. Wiring is separated. I don't see why this happened because all I did was remove previous Alpine deck and installed the jvc deck.

Even grounded the rca outputs from deck.

I had the same issue with a JVC headunit. Turns out the RCAs needed their own grounding to get rid of the noise audible over speakers powered by an amp.

Seemed to be a common problem with JVC units.
Even with your grounding of the RCAs then I would put it down to the headunit itself if it wasn't a problem before.

Remembered what I did on a buddy JVC deck back in the day..

Took some thin flex and wrapped the copper strands around the outside of the RCA terminals and basically grounded them to one of the screws on the casing of the deck. Seems to work for me. System ran like that with no issues....
