Hey Guys,

It's a perfect match as your only option is to wire the subs in series due to the subs being 2ohms.

The TG-D12000.1 pushes 2000wrms @2ohms. :hurray:

They overrated in the sense that its a 12000w(I call this marketing power) amp that pushes only 3000wrms @ 1ohm(true power) ,at that output they power hungry (not so much efficient) but for R2500 brand new , justifies it for what it is

Correct , spec's says it's rated 3000wrms but it's not consistent power(you will rarely see this full power) and they forget to add that you need a steady 14.5v.
Example - Every time a bass note kicks , voltage/amps drops = RMS output will fluctuate.

where as an efficient amp will push it's rated rms consistently , using less volts/amps = less heat = more reliable - will play hard all day - everyday without distorting.

yeah i see your point

but like a 2400rms rated amp from targa people are saying that true rms at that 14v is only like 1100rms true power this is what i mean when i say overrated?

obviously with more voltage power the higher the rms rating is.

but is this true ?

as i take it a tg18d is rated at 2000wrms . theres a guy that said it was tested at 1800wrms @ 12.5v so this is very effeciant.
why would targa suddenly stoop so low to over rate by more than half what it relly produce?

a small difference is nothing 10to20percent difference is ok due to other factors ofcoz. so i wanted to know whats the case of the 12000.1 amp you have?

im asking this just to see if what people are saying is really true?

Yes it's true but more specific to entry level amp's as Targa has some good amps aswell.

The TG-D12000.1 & TG18D is different technology amps , the latter being a Competition class X amp versus the TG-D12000.1 a Class D hybrid.
TG-D12000.1 - 12000w Peak - 3000wrms
TG18D - 5000w peak - 2000wrms

Also keep in mind that other factors like pre-amp voltage , RCA's etc... will affect output power

Honestly the Targa Dynamite range is nothing to rave about, infact Targa doesn't even list it on their website but it's affordable as the average Joe doesn't have 5k for amp - even 5k will get you nothing out of Rockfords range

So yes the TG-D12000.1 would be overrated as getting 3000wrms out of it is a bit far fetched and if it did, it would be for seconds while at the same time, it's draining the hell out of the battery , killing the alternator softly.

The same goes for XTC , Starsounds etc.... entry level amps
