Polo factory speakers

Post by Shivbeanz »

Hi guys, Anyone amplified their factory door speakers on a sportline/9n3?
And what amplification (RMS) can they handle up to without dying?
Thanks

I used a SSA2600×4 starsound amp and they crapped themselves over time with gains at 25% on HPF. Replaced them with Alpine Type G splits and yoh the difference was unmatched.

I'm thinking of getting this to run the door speakers alone

Straight plug and play with my alpine deck, pushing out 4x45RMS output, but will obviously have to turn gains down
Just worried about frying the stock speakers

had mine amplified off the front channels of a rockford p4004, so 100+rms per side.
only fried when i lent the car to a "friend".
So as long as you cross them over good and you aren't tone-deaf enough not to hear distortion you'll be fine with the same power you'd use for a cheap set of splits.
You can always replace them if they fry after that

Straight plug and play for alpine units with a black connector. Bit pricey though
