Hey guys
So we got a call from a local dealership looking for us to do some work on a car they had standing on the floor. It just so happened to be a Golf mk7 .:R
We opted for a detail and ceramic composite coating to protect the paintwork after the paint correction.
Please excuse my shody old iphone vids/pics.
The vehicle was rinsed, followed by Angelwax revelation for the iron removal, then foamed and left to dwell. The car was washed using 2BM with another specifically for the Rims. Plastics and rubber were cleaner with a dedicated cleaner as were the Rims. It was then dried and Then it was time to clay. We used the Angelwax clay lube and Glide for the decontamination.
After this the vehicle was washed again before the correction process. A test spot was done and a combo was dialed in.
Here is a 50/50 for the correction step.
Before
After
These are all the pictures I have of the correction stage, for some reason the videos from the correction don’t seem to upload.
After the correction the vehicle was washed again and dried. The surface was then prepped using the Ceramic prep Cleaner. The coating was applied to the body paint first, followed by the exterior plastics/rubbers, followed by exterior windows and lastly the Rims.
Here are some finished product pics.
Thanks all for looking. Write ups in future will contain more in depth descriptions and more photos of the many different stages.
Always keen to hear options/suggestions and tips
