Computer box

Good day, my golf 1 got an accident the body was really damaged, so I bought another golf body and remove everything from my car to the body ,the computer box doesn't wanna start the engine but when I used a chipped computer box it does start. Is my computer box dead?

Are you using the same key and ignition barrel with the same wiring loom?

Can't remember if the Instrument cluster is also coded to the ECU in the Citi golfs

Your car should start and die after 5 seconds even if the key is not coded to the box.
