Advice for turbo project

Hi all need some advice I have a 1.8 8v mp9 setup in a mk2 jetta.

What I want to do is I want to fit a turbo on its not for speed I just like the sound of it.

I was told if I fit a turbo I believe its a t1 turbo I won't have to do anything on my motor to run a turbo.
