Re: Potential GTi
Hi there
From what I know, looking at the mileage, make sure that regular gearbox services have been done under the warranty plan, if there is little. Evidence that it has been done, make sure it is. The gearbox typically needs a service every 60k so at 120 it should need another. Going forward it may be useful to shorten this service interval to 45k to prevent possibility of failiure. Also. Cambelt Service should have been done, so check that as well. You don't need costly Repairs for a simple Thing Like that
Also if the cambelt service was done, ask if the cam adjusters have been inspected (visually and by computer) to ensure that they are still good. These can affect timing and ignition if they are warn of properly maintained
Car looks great though, hope you enjoy it

Re: Potential GTi
Depending on how serious you are you may want to consider the Dekra (or similar) multi-point check.
https://www.dekraauto.co.za/multi-point-check
There's also the more comprehensive check for added peace of mind - but I think that will cost you a bit more.

Re: Potential GTi
OK I will ask the seller to show me this info because I don't want to buy something that going to be troublesome for me in a month or 2, I want to pay petrol, maintenance /service and have fun on this baby. I own 2 bikes so there's enough money that goes into them already phewPeej wrote:Hi there

Definitely dodged a bullet there, if that was his response he must have clearly had issues with the car that he didn't want out the bag
