Sounds great Resh, although this part bothers me:

Yes, we have been told that in some areas we would need to prepare ourselves. But then we need to understand the reason for the run :)

By us doing this, we hope that there wont be as much of those issues in the future :)

With the run being tomorrow, and for catering purposes, can the events co-ordinator tell me the total number of people including passengers that will be coming through tomorrow?

Thank you.

Big ups to the SOCSA guys, event turned out to be a success especially with so many cars from the Scooby and ST club showing up...was surprised to see such a poor turnout by the VW guys, think we were about 10 cars all in all  To all the VW guys that managed to show your support, well done to you.

Hey Guys!

A big thank you to all of you guys that came through, the turnout was much better than expected and it was a definite success with thanks to you guys!

We will be getting a better idea from Jane at the SPCA about how much was collected, but rough guesses says it's looking good and we probably collected in excess of R20k and another R20k in actual food, blankets, computers, tyres, dog bowls!!!

But thank you once again, you guys can be proud in having made a difference to the Silverton SPCA.

As it stands now, the VW Club members are donating R3920!!! That is impressive. Thanks to all you guys who donated and attended.

I was just a bit dissappointed in eTV's coverage of the event. They did not mention any of the car clubs and just called us "Good Samaritans"!

Yeah guys it was a great run! Shaun is right about the VW turnout, the Scoobies out numbered us probably 3:1!
Nadia it was great to meet You - You're a great asset for SOCSA!
Congrats to the Club guys who did donate - R4000 is a great amount!
Jane was telling us that the previous director defrauded them by R2.0 mil - fkn ****.

Big thanks to the guys & girls who took the time and made the effort to attend as well as those of you who made donations

VW's once again badly outnumbered by both the Subaru and Ford boys/girls

E-TV's coverage was to be expected, the point of the coverage was to gain awareness for the SPCA and not the car clubs. I would have to agree though that a mention would have been nice. If only one person saw the news segment and makes a donation or adopts an animal then it did it's job :D

@ Justin, we still need to have that run sometime

Hi guys

Saturday was great and the turnout from teh Scooby and ST boys was brilliant  We could of had more VW's there, but thank you to everyone who came through to show their support :!: I am really glad that we could all pull together like that to make a difference to the lives of those that need it and I hope we can do it again in the future :!:

The VW Club, through generous donations by members and non-members managed to raise just over R4,000 which will be donated towards kennel sponsorship at the Silverton SPCA - well done guys :!:

To the Scooby guys and girls - Well done and well organised :!: It was great to meet you guys and girls

Cheers

Great run. I enjoyed catchin up to the convoy :D

What an impressive turnout. The Scooby guys and the Fords impressed me most of all. Amazing turnout from you guys! Also was disappointed with the VW turnout but was good to see some of you guys there and good to finally meet you 6-Pot. Great meeting you too Nadia :)

e-TV edited out the Veedubs :( Guess its fair that they showed the Scoobs and the Fords in the mock convoy entrance as they were the guys who had showed the most support on the day. And anyway, it was for the animals who deserved most coverage and hopefully will inspire more of the public to show their support.

Again, well done to all those who supported this and made it so successful and to VW dudes who couldnt make it but contributed to the 4K collected by the club :D

Hey Guys,

just to let you know the SPCA run will be covered in the CAR magazine.

Can everyone who has pictures of the event please mail it to me resh@ivolve.co.za so that i can hand them in.

And also, we managed to get a grand total of R52 000 and rising, after saturday they have been flooded with calls for donations and sponsorships. And an old lady of 91 donated R10 000. i have requested for her details so that we could thank her.

I have also been told that the reason we didnt get our exposure was that they are not allowed to advertise on the news.

Looks like it was more successful than we thought :)

Resh - Well done to you and the Subaru boys and girls who were the bulk of the brains and brawn behind the event  We as a club will always try and support these type of events and are glad that we could play a part in helping out those less fortunate than ourselves

We have already spoken about the pictures, so i will give you all the VW ones I have  Ha Ha - Just kidding
