As disappointed as I am, I fully understand the decision with so little interest shown and so much money at stake.Ian_F wrote:Good morning everyone
It is with great sadness that I announce the cancellation of the Jamboree event. As we near the point of no return for cancellation of the track at no cost, we've agreed as a committee to pull the plug on the track day, due to very little interest from the club.
As it stands, we would be in the hole for R50 000 for the track day and various other costs, and up and until this morning, we have had 2 registrations for the event. The club encountered this same issue a few years back at Kyalami, and it left the club reeling for a while recovering from the financial hit.
I cannot put the club into this position, and the descision was definitely one made with our minds, rather than our hearts.
Due to the vast number of events planned for this weekend, we will not be hosting an event for October.
Our next event, will be the AGM combined with our final breakfast run for the year, on 20 November
Peace
I think you are mistaken.NF. wrote:Wow! I'm shocked
I was thinking of entering the track day, but when I saw there were only 30 places I assumed they'd all be filled already!

Normally registrations would have been flowing in. 2 registrations to dateBoost wrote:It's sad. I kind of hoped there would have been a pre-warning to get registrations in before having to cancel. That would have made me get my ass in gear and send the form.
I didn't because I have a Kyalami Trackday the previous day (29th).Ian_F wrote:Plenty of comments from anyone and I ask that you share your thoughts...
I'll ask one question though...
Did you register?

I fully agree with the decision made. I was also worried about the lack of interest on this thread. Told me something.Ian_F wrote:Normally registrations would have been flowing in. 2 registrations to dateBoost wrote:It's sad. Makes sense to rather call it off

Whats better than one track day? Two of course. Not like you would be able to break the DatsunPitzi-NC wrote:I didn't because I have a Kyalami Trackday the previous day (29th).Ian_F wrote:Plenty of comments from anyone and I ask that you share your thoughts...

Datsuns do break. Kyalami is tough enough, Kyalami and Redstar in 2 days becomes a problem.Boost wrote:Whats better than one track day? Two of course.
