More Info:
There comes a time once every year where we all wind down, sit back and try to spend some time with the ones we love most. Now for some, the 1st thing that comes to mind is the Festive Season right? Well for lovers of all things Volkswagen and Audi there's only one time of the year that fits this description and that's when its Vdub Camp Festival time 'aka Camp Fest' babyyyyy!

If you've never been to Vdub Camp Fest and claim to be vdub fanatic and live anywhere in Southern Africa, your life will not be complete without a visit to what is 'thee' largest weekend gathering of VAG enthusiasts in Africa. Camp Fest started from humble beginnings in 2009 as a single day show&shine/party event. Fast forward 6years to the 2015 event and it is now a 2day 2night motoring, music and outdoor lifestyle festival which is expected to attract in excess of 10,000 people from all parts of the world.

Camp Fest brings together the cream of the SA vdub scene and all those that embrace the term "for the love of dubs" meet annually at the event to share in this unique bond that exists at Camp Fest. Words often fail to sum up what the Camp Fest experience is all about so go check out the 2013 and 2014 videos on their Facebook page and you'll catch just a glimpse of what were trying to describe in words. (Or go to Vimeo.com and search for "vdub camp fest")

Now for the important stuff.

The 2015 show takes place from the 06th - 8th February 2015 at the ATKV Resort in Buffelspooort, North West Province, South Africa. For more info on the venue visit the resort website http://www.atkvresorts.co.za/buffelspoort-overview

Tickets are pre sold. Book yours now as they usually run out by the middle of December already. Ticket prices are R100 for day visiting (Overnight stay tickets are sold out)

Pre-registration for Show&Shine is also required for all those wishing to enter their rides. Send your name and contact details along with a few pictures of your vehicle and details of the mods done to your ride to campfestshowandshine@gmail.com. Entries close on the 7th of Jan 2015with the final list of pre selected rides announced the week thereafter. The categories have been widened to account for the various Polo models as well as a Scirocco class.

Each and every ticket holder present at the show on Sunday 8 Feb will be in the draw to win the fully customized VW that is given away at every Camp Fest since 2013, another unique feature that no other event does. The organizers have gone air cooled this time and sourced a '72 Bay Window Bus for the project. Not much can be revealed yet but Max My Ride will be doing a full pre and post build feature on the Bus in next months' edition.

Vdub Camp Fest has also partnered up with Absolute Revolutionized Technologies (ART) to giveaway a full digital Air Ride system worth R40,000 that will be fitted LIVE at the weekend event. For more details on this go to http://www.artworkz.co.za or http://www.fb.com/Lifesbetterbagged

Last but not least, the Volkswagen Barons Group will be doing their own giveaway at the show of a 1974 Beetle that they have restored and given some much needed OEM+ love. More of this will be announced on the event's Facebook page.

There will be an impressive array of sponsor exhibits, resort activities, food, drink & entertainment to keep you going all weekend. Or you could just sit back, pull up a camp chair and open your favourite beverage while you enjoy the beautiful rides, beautiful people and unique experience that is Vdub Camp Fest.

Also be on the lookout for the Vdub Camp Fest branded vehicles that will be doing the rounds this festive season in the buildup to the 2015 show.

Meet the #CampFest Show & Shine Judges for 2K15...

Jamie Orr

Writer for Performance VW Magazine (UK)

This is his first time visiting South Africa and Jamie will be using the opportunity to cover Camp Fest for PVW, 1st time ever ! We are truly honored to have him at the show

Jamie originates from Scotland, but now lives near Philadelphia, USA. He's worked exclusively around VWs for over a decade, including starting his company Orchid Euro. He has attended and worked at VW shows across the USA and Mexico, throughout South America and in Europe in the UK, Netherlands, Austria and more.
His current VW projects include a Brazilian built 1993 VW Fox (featured in PVW Magazine in 2007), a 1989 Rallye Golf and 1999 Lupo 3L (both on Air-Lift V2 suspension), a 1974 Mk1 Rabbit, a 6 door Mk2 Jetta Limousine and quite a few others. This is his first time visiting South Africa.

Nico Di Folco

Nico who recently returned back home to South Africa after a stint in Europe of 5 years.

He is an avid car enthusiast who has always loved all things with wheels especially VW's. He has travelled and experienced many international shows even to Austria for the famous Worthersee show which is world renowned. His passion for photography & cars pushes him to always try to capture the perfect shot. Nico has photographed for Neck Breakerz, Canibeat and a few more international blogs. You can find more of his own work on his page Nico Di Folco Photography.

Nico is one of the owners and head fabricators at RC Performance, specializing in Engine Swaps, Turbocharging, Full Exhaust Systems, Suspension/Brake Upgrades & Custom Fabrication on all makes and brands and much more!!

Lorenzo Lakay

Lorenzo Lakay is a Cape town based automotive photographer + videographer and Capestance contributor

And all together humble guy with a keen eye for the local scene

Chris 'Krutch' Wall

I've been involved in the motoring industry since the turn of the century, but was into cars way before that of course. For 15 years now I've done many motoring-related things including being the editor of a popular motoring magazine. I'm currently a freelance motoring journalist and photographer, still heavily involved in the industry doing work for the likes of Max My Ride TopCar, MB Life, VAG Cafe and many more. Even though I drive a Ford, my first motoring love was a Mk1 GTi, and I swear that one day I'll have another one parked in my driveway. My experience in the aftermarket industry means I know what it takes to make a car stand out from the rest, what works and what doesn't.

Chaz Haskins

From the Cum Laude stable, Chaz has been with CampFest from its humble beginnings as JHB VDUB Day.

Always watching the developments in the local and global scene for the next new wave of mods and styling taking place.

His aim along with the rest of Team CampFest is to get the SA scene up to spec with International levels!
